winter vacation michigan
anyone been to gulf shores alabama?
hi looking for a nice place to go for a winter vacation driving from michigan any recommendations for beach towns?
Gulf Shores is great! We have a condo in Orange Beach, which is not too far away. There some great restaurants there also. It wouldn’t be nearly as crowded like places east like Panama City(which is really dirty now and has a real crime and drug problem) and Pensacola(whose beaches are nicer). There was some hurricane damage to the area and it is mostly cleared up to the point where a person who wasn’t from there would notice. The area is clean and, for the most part, crime free. There is always a great New Year’s Eve and fourth of July fireworks show. There issome pretty good shopping,but you would be better off going North to Mobile. There are plenty of deep sea fishin charters and rental boats too. All in all it is just like most other beach towns down here but without the heavy tourist traffic.
