Am I selfish for this?
My wife is a sweetie pie. She and I have been hitched for a year now. In many areas, we are opposites. I have to carefully plan out adventures, errands, etc. She is very spontaneous. But I find it most difficult to be spontaneous. I have to mentally prepare for things first and feel organized.
I have a little bit of money saved for a car. My wife told me today that we should spend the money by taking a trip abroad. She just very suddenly expressed this idea to me today. I told her “No, sweetie.”
She said that we should travel before we have kids. By the way, she very very much wants kids, whereas I would feel fine if we don’t have any. But she likes to spend money. I don’t. I like to save it. Besides, we have been on a few mini vacations in the past couple of years- for example, we have gone to Florida a couple of times, the North Georgia mountains, etc.
Am I selfish for not wanting to spend the little bit I have saved for a car?
No I think you should be able to buy the car you want since you saved the money.
Maybe you could both go on some day trips that would handle not going abroad.
Or maybe take a trip for a week some where that is not going to break the bank.
I know you will figure it out.
