cheap carribbean vacations for 2009 holiday season?

im thinking the wife and I need to get out of “dodge” (charlotte) are there any super good deals on Caribbean vacations before we hit 2010? we are not a fan of cruises, more beach bodies and into snorkeling. cheap cheap cheap is the name of the game. im sure theres gotta be some recession -buster deals going on..

If you want cheap in the Caribbean, then you’ll have to go in November [except for Thanksgiving week] or in the first couple of weeks in December [before Christmas/New Year's]. High season begins sometime in mid-December in the Caribbean. It may already be too late to get reservations at many resorts.

You COULD find some bargains if you wanted to cruise, however. January through mid-February are bargain rate times for cruises [along with the Nov-Dec periods mentioned above]. Take a look at VacationsToGo.com for some info about great prices.

You could check the “usual” travel websites, such as Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, etc. to see whether they have any bargains, and the site I mentioned above also has good rates on resort vacations. Or talk to a travel agent. If you’re a member of AAA, that’s a good place to start.
