Good idea for vacation/long weekend away for parents?

I would like to get my parents a long weekend away somewhere nice but affordable? I’m not sure if I should use a travel agent, or utilize one of the many sites online. What can you suggest for a travel destination for a long weekend during the winter? I’m located in NJ..and was figuring a short cruise away, a bed and breakfast in the Myrtle Beach area, or a bed and breakfast in the Lancaster/Gettysburg ares of PA. I appreciate any and all suggestions. Please be advised this will be a gift from 3 teenage children so we cant afford round trip airfare to Hawaii.

Thanks

Book the deal on your own and you will save just as much. The internet sites will help you navigate by using search engines to find what you need. Use Yahoo! travel or Travelocity to grab a decent deal on a normal flight if you have the location picked out already. For cheap location that would be nice during the winter I would recommend Florida. This sounds expensive, but with Allegiant Air opening last year and a few other new airlines, you might find that rates are better than you thought. Allegiant Air uses smaller airports, like the one in Allentown PA, and flies from 29 bones each way. If you plan the right days you could end up with two tickets for under 200 dollars.

Regardless of the way you decide to plan, doing it on your own is entirely possible and will be closer to what you want. Use the search engine a lot and stick to your financial and vacation goals and you will find that your parents’ trip will come together quickly.
